Job summary

HCEA in Maryland seeks a Senior Geotechnical Project Engineer to lead geotechnical engineering and CMT projects for public and private sector clients. You will mentor staff, support field operations, and advance business development.

This role emphasizes independent technical leadership, client liaison, and project oversight, with potential progression to higher leadership. A PE license and 8–10 years’ experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or geotechnical engineering and PE license.
• 8–10 years of progressive geotechnical engineering or consulting experience.
• Strong communication skills with clients and internal teams.
• Proficiency with MS Office and standard geotechnical software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects under supervision.
• Work independently, seeking guidance as needed.
• Lead and manage CMT projects initiated in geotech phase.
• Prepare proposals, cost estimates, reports, specifications, and correspondence.
• Review and interpret laboratory and field test data for reports and recommendations.
• Represent the firm in client meetings and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Support business development by maintaining client relationships.
• Support branch operations and comply with safety policies.
