Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead geotechnical engineering and CMT projects in the region. You will mentor junior staff, support field operations, and contribute to business development.

The role emphasizes independent technical work, client relations, and collaboration with internal teams. A PE license and extensive geotechnical experience are required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8–10 years geotechnical consulting experience.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
• Strong client-facing communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical engineering projects under Principal supervision.
• Independently manage projects and support field operations.
• Prepare proposals, cost estimates, reports, and specifications.
• Review lab and field data for reports and recommendations.
• Represent the firm in client meetings and coordinate with stakeholders.
