Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead geotechnical and CMT projects regionally. You will provide client-facing technical leadership, mentor junior staff, support field operations, and contribute to business development across diverse public and private sector work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
• P.E. license
• 8–10 years of progressive geotechnical engineering or consulting experience
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency with RocScience, Ensoft, Tablogs and related software

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Geotechnical Engineering projects under supervision of a Principal
• Work independently, obtaining guidance as needed
• Lead and manage CMT projects, especially those you were involved with in Geotechnical phase
• Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, engineering reports, specifications
• Review and evaluate laboratory and field test data for reports and recommendations
• Represent the firm in client meetings
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, regulators, and internal teams
• Support business development by maintaining client relationships and industry involvement
• Support branch operations and safety/permitting requirements
