Job summary

WSP is seeking a Vice President, Geotechnical Engineer for the CGEM team in Atlanta, GA. You will lead and grow a geotechnical practice, manage major projects across power, commercial, transportation, and water markets, and mentor staff to deliver technical excellence.

This role requires 12+ years of experience, GA PE license or eligibility, advanced geotechnical knowledge, and the ability to develop proposals, budgets, and client relationships while upholding safety and ethics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus, or closely related discipline.
• 12+ years of relevant post-education experience.
• Professional engineering license in Georgia, or ability to become licensed in Georgia in six months.
• Advanced proficiency with geotechnical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, standard of care.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and ensuring safety.
• Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and expertise for a growing ground engineering practice.
• Develop and retain a client base, identify opportunities, and develop proposals.
• Collaborate across lines to support opportunities and pipeline.
• Remain current in geotechnical techniques.
• Lead projects, oversee budgets and schedules, and ensure technical quality.
• Meet with client representatives to discuss issues.
• Mentor staff and provide performance guidance.
• Adhere to company policies and code of conduct.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required.
