Job summary

Shannon & Wilson Inc. is seeking a Senior Geotechnical/Civil Engineer to expand our underground services capabilities. You will work with our leadership to shape strategy, oversee projects, and ensure high-end service delivery for roadways, tunnels, and utility infrastructure.

The role requires 14–20+ years of experience, a PE license, and the ability to manage multiple clients and projects. Travel to other offices and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; advanced degree preferred.
• 14–20+ years of geotechnical or civil engineering experience.
• PE license in the state of practice.
• Knowledge of trenching, shoring, underground construction.
• Ability to read plans, surveys, and geotechnical data.
• Experience in SEM/NATM, CM, and cost estimating.
• Strong written and verbal communication; client interaction.
• Willing to travel to other Shannon & Wilson offices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the underground practice area with high-end services.
• Design and organize underground resources for tunnels and pipelines.
• Prepare drawings, specs, calculations, and cost estimates.
• Review reports and coordinate with subsurface conditions.
• Ensure regulatory compliance.
• Mentor and supervise engineers and staff.
• Support business development and client proposals.
• Provide technical guidance across the company.
• Follow QA, health and safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
