Job summary

Shannon & Wilson Inc. is seeking a Senior Geotechnical/Civil Engineer to lead underground services. You will oversee design and coordination of tunnels, water, and utilities, while mentoring staff and supporting client relationships.

The role requires extensive experience, PE licensure, and travel to projects across offices. The team emphasizes high-end services, QA policies, and safety standards in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering required; MS/PhD strongly preferred.
• 14–20+ years of geotechnical or civil engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state Office is located.
• Knowledge of trenching, shoring, and underground construction methods.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, profiles, surveys, and geotechnical data.
• Experience in SEM/NATM, cost estimating, scheduling, CM; mentoring preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the underground practice area and provide high-end client services.
• Design and organize underground resources for tunnels and large-scale projects.
• Prepare drawings, specs, calculations, and cost estimates.
• Review reports and coordinate with subsurface conditions.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Lead project meetings, design reviews, and issue resolution.
• Assist in BD activities and prepare proposals.
• Mentor and supervise engineers and staff.
