Job summary

Shannon & Wilson is seeking a senior geotechnical/civil engineer to lead underground services capabilities and coordinate with directors and office managers. The role encompasses marketing, planning, design, coordination, and oversight of underground infrastructure systems including roadways, rail, water, and utilities.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.
• 14+ years of experience as Geotechnical or Civil Engineer.
• PE license in the state where the office is located.
• Knowledge of underground design standards and practices.
• Ability to read plans, profiles, surveys, and geotechnical data.
• Experience in SEM/NATM, CM, cost estimating, scheduling.
• Willingness to travel to meet project needs.

Responsibilities

• Guide the direction of the underground practice area and provide high-end services to clients.
• Design and organize underground services resources for tunnels and pipelines.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, calculations and cost estimates.
• Review reports and coordinate designs with subsurface conditions.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
• Lead, mentor, supervise engineers and staff.
• Support business development with proposals and presentations.
• Travel to support other Shannon & Wilson offices, projects and events.
