Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering (BLE) seeks an experienced Senior Engineer for its Geotechnical Group in Asheville, NC. The role focuses on leadership in geotechnical consulting, mentoring junior staff, and expanding capabilities for municipal, industrial, residential, and commercial projects.

The position requires a PE license in NC/SC (or eligible) and 6–8 years of relevant experience, with travel to site meetings and client development across the southeastern US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with geotechnical focus; Master's preferred.
• 6–8 years of relevant professional experience.
• PE licensure in NC/SC or ability to become licensed in additional southeastern states within six months.
• Knowledge of geotechnical design, construction, geosynthetics.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for site meetings and client development within the southeastern US.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert interpretation of analytical data for a wide range of projects.
• Lead geotechnical investigations including site reconnaissance, drilling oversight, sampling, and field data collection.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, maps, and presentations for clients and regulators.
• Mentor junior staff and manage project delivery to meet quality, budget, and schedule.
