Job summary

NV5, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Senior Geotechnical Engineer for a leadership role in its Truckee, CA office.

The position focuses on conventional geotechnical services, construction materials testing, hillside design, seismic analyses, and forensic geotechnical engineering for commercial and public sector clients. Responsibilities include directing projects, proposing and presenting, supervising staff, and engaging in business development.

Qualifications

• Experience with public works and transportation projects.
• Geotechnical design and calculations for permanent and temporary supports.
• Seismic risk analysis and soil-structure interaction analyses.
• At least 5 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Advanced degree in geotechnical engineering; PM experience.
• California PE required; GE or ability to obtain GE.
• Experience with gINT, LPile, SlopeW, MathCAD and CAD preferred.
• Senior level based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct and execute geotechnical project assignments including analysis, report prep, field exploration, and lab services.
• Provide senior review of proposals and reports; ensure commitments to clients.
• Direct and develop proposals and presentations; assist in business development.
• Supervise geotechnical staff and technicians.
• Participate in professional and technical organizations.
