Job summary

NV5, Inc. in Truckee, CA seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex geotechnical projects for public and private clients. You will oversee field exploration, analysis, and reporting, and mentor junior staff.

Candidates must have at least 5 years in geotechnical engineering, an advanced degree, and a California PE (GE license preferred). Proficiency with gINT, LPile, SlopeW, MathCAD and CAD is expected, with strong communication and project-management skills.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have experience with public works and transportation projects.
• Experience with geotechnical design and calculations for permanent and temporary support systems for excavation and building foundations.
• Seismic risk analysis and soil-structure interaction analyses abilities.
• Must have at least 5 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
• Possess an advanced degree in geotechnical engineering and experience as a project manager.
• A California PE is required; GE license or ability to obtain GE is preferred.
• Experience with geotechnical software including gINT, LPile, SlopeW, MathCAD and CAD is preferred.

NV5, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven SENIORGEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER for a leadership position in its Truckee, CA office. The Truckee office provides consulting engineering services which include, conventional geotechnical services and construction materials testing services, as well as, advanced geotechnical engineering for hillside design, retaining structures, bridges, seismic analyses, and forensic geotechnical engineering. Our client base is in both the commercial and public sectors.

• A qualified candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
• Possess an advanced degree in geotechnical engineering, have experience in processing foundation reports, and experience as a project manager.
• A California PE required. California GE or ability to quickly obtain GE is required.
• Experience with software including gINT, LPile, SlopeW, MathCAD, and CAD is preferred.
• Senior level is based on experience.

Certifications/Licenses:

• P.E. (G.E. Preferred)

The pay range for this California position is $150,000- $170,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per California Senate Bill 1162. Base pay information is based on market location.
