Job summary

AET is seeking a senior geotechnical engineer to coordinate testing services and guide a project team on multidisciplinary efforts. The role requires independent, high-level engineering work and active involvement in marketing and business development.

Base locations include Williston, Dickinson, Bismarck, ND or Rapid City, SD, with travel as needed. A PE license and 10+ years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering with 10+ years of related experience, or an advanced degree with 8+ years.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration and ability to obtain licensure in other states.
• Strong project management, leadership, and client interaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from authorization to completion, including client interaction, scheduling, budgets, invoicing and quality control.
• Perform engineering observations and prepare formal geotechnical reports with recommendations.
• Coordinate staff for field testing and review/sign technical reports.
• Coordinate with marketing/business development to meet department goals and generate business.
• Coach and evaluate junior staff and contribute to performance appraisals.
