Job summary

American Engineering Testing (AET) seeks a senior geotechnical engineer to lead project testing services, apply engineering principles, and direct a multidisciplinary team.

The role involves managing client interactions, scheduling, budgets, and QA, with opportunities for marketing activities and business development.

Base locations include Williston, Dickinson, Grand Forks, Fargo, Sheridan, and nearby regions, with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geological Engineering with 10+ years of related experience, OR
• Advanced degree in Civil (Geotechnical or related) Engineering with 8+ years of related experience (preferred)
• Professional Engineering (PE) registration
• Ability to obtain registration in other States, as required

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and complete project testing services by applying knowledge of engineering principles and practices to specific problems.
• Train and direct a project team on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Independently performs most assignments and performs marketing/business development duties to meet department goals.
• Prepare formal geotechnical engineering reports, including recommendations.
• Coordinate and assign staff to perform field testing.
• Represent AET by presenting ideas and solutions to clients and regulators.
• Assist in coaching and training junior staff and perform performance appraisals.
