Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our PSI team in Columbus, OH. You will manage geotechnical projects from inception to reporting, mentor junior staff, and interact with clients throughout project phases.

The role requires a BS in a geotechnical-related field with 8–10 years of experience; PE registration is preferred or obtainable within 6 months. Proficiency with gINT or Open Ground and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

BS in Civil, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering
8–10 years geotechnical engineering experience
P.E. registration preferred or obtainable within 6 months
Experience with gINT or Open Ground

Responsibilities

Responsible for overall management of geotechnical engineering services and ownership of project tasks
Preparation of geotechnical proposals and reports and ensure commitments to clients are met
Execute geotechnical project assignments including engineering analysis and detailed reports
Site reconnaissance to assess site conditions and identify potential problems
Identify problematic soils and call for additional investigations as needed
Understanding of rock, rock coring, and rock description
Client relations and daily client interactions
Mentoring and training of staff technicians and engineers
Active participation in professional and technical organizations
