Job summary

Celnor Group in Virginia Beach seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer (PE) to lead complex geotechnical projects and manage client relationships. You will direct subsurface explorations, analyze soils, prepare reports, and mentor junior staff.

The role requires a Virginia-licensed PE with 7+ years in geotechnical consulting or construction materials testing, strong communication, and project-leadership skills. Hybrid work available; competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or closely related field.
Professional Engineer license, Virginia licensure preferred.
Minimum seven years of progressive geotechnical consulting or construction materials testing experience.
Strong ability to manage budgets, schedules, staffing and client expectations.
Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
Ability to mentor and develop junior technical staff.

Responsibilities

Lead multiple geotechnical and materials testing projects from proposal to delivery, managing scope, budgets and schedules.
Direct subsurface exploration programmes including SPT borings, CPT, pits and sampling.
Perform advanced geotechnical analyses covering foundations, settlements, slope stability, earthworks and groundwater.
Prepare and review geotechnical reports, calculations and construction recommendations.
Act as principal technical contact for clients and design teams, resolving site issues.
