Job summary

Celnor Group in Virginia Beach seeks a Senior Geotechnical Engineer (PE) to lead complex geotechnical projects and manage client relationships. You will direct subsurface explorations, analyze soils, prepare reports, and mentor junior staff.

The role requires a Virginia-licensed PE with 7+ years in geotechnical consulting or construction materials testing, strong communication, and project-leadership skills. Hybrid work available; competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or closely related field.
• Professional Engineer license, Virginia licensure preferred.
• Minimum seven years of progressive geotechnical consulting or construction materials testing experience.
• Strong ability to manage budgets, schedules, staffing and client expectations.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and develop junior technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple geotechnical and materials testing projects from proposal to delivery, managing scope, budgets and schedules.
• Direct subsurface exploration programmes including SPT borings, CPT, pits and sampling.
• Perform advanced geotechnical analyses covering foundations, settlements, slope stability, earthworks and groundwater.
• Prepare and review geotechnical reports, calculations and construction recommendations.
• Act as principal technical contact for clients and design teams, resolving site issues.
