Job summary

Exponent is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in Los Angeles to inspect, analyze, and evaluate geotechnical systems such as foundations, retaining walls, and slopes, and to contribute to repair/mitigation concepts.

The role requires a Ph.D. or MS in Geotechnical engineering with years of experience, strong analytical skills, and ability to lead projects and interact with clients. This is an on-site position with cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical focus and 3+ years' experience.
• MS in Civil Engineering Geotechnical with at least 8 years' experience.
• Strong knowledge of Geology/Geological Engineering or Groundwater Hydrology is a plus.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to lead client relations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections and subsurface explorations.
• Perform geotechnical and civil engineering analyses.
• Assist with peer review of design and construction of geotechnical systems.
• Prepare conceptual designs for repair/restoration of damaged geotechnical systems.
