Exponent is seeking a Managing Geologist (MS/PhD) to join our Civil & Structural Engineering Practice. The role involves leading geotechnical investigations, GIS and geophysical analyses, and direct client interaction across multiple U.S.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in geological sciences with Engineering Geology specialization and 5+ years post-graduate experience.
• MS in Geological Sciences with Engineering Geology specialization and 10+ years post-graduate experience.
• Licensure as a PG or PGP in at least one state is required.
• CEG or CHG certification in at least one state or ability to obtain within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections and subsurface explorations to determine causes of failure in geotechnical systems.
• Evaluate and characterize site conditions for root cause failure analyses and mitigation design.
• Create geospatial and subsurface models using GIS.
• Produce topographic and thematic maps and reports for clients.
• Lead project teams and manage client relationships and project delivery.
