Job summary

Exponent is seeking a Managing Geotechnical Engineer to join our Civil & Structural Engineering Practice in Los Angeles, CA or Irvine, CA. You will lead geotechnical projects, perform analyses, and mentor a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative, safe solutions.

The role requires advanced geotechnical credentials (PhD or MS with extensive experience), exceptional communication, and a track record of client development.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical focus and 5+ years’ experience, or M.S. with 10+ years’ experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and client-management capability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reports and presentations.
• Current licensed professional civil engineer in at least one state, ability to license in others.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical and civil engineering analyses for projects.
• Evaluate construction claims related to ground conditions and earthworks.
• Prepare conceptual designs for repair/restoration of geotechnical systems.
• Perform peer reviews of technical work.
• Lead project teams and manage client relationships.
• Develop new and existing client work together with the team.
