Job summary

Exponent is seeking a Senior Geologist for its Civil & Structural Engineering Practice with duties spanning field investigations, geologic characterization, GIS modeling, and peer review. The role supports projects addressing failures in geotechnical systems and natural hazards in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in geological sciences with Engineering Geology specialization and 3+ years of experience.
• M.S. in geological sciences with Engineering Geology specialization and 5+ years of experience.
• Licensed PG or PGP in at least one state is required; ability to become CEG or CHG.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections and subsurface explorations to determine failure causes in geotechnical systems.
• Evaluate site conditions for root cause analyses and mitigation design.
• Create geospatial and subsurface models; develop topographic and thematic maps.
• Assist with peer review of geologic and geotechnical documents; evaluate construction claims.
