Job summary

Terracon in Wilmington, NC seeks a mid-level Geologist/Hydrogeologist to evaluate subsurface soil and groundwater data and develop conclusions for site conditions.

You will supervise field staff, interpret data, and contribute to proposals and reports for projects ranging from earthwork to remediation. A bachelor’s degree is required, with 5+ years of experience; a master’s is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Geology, Hydrogeology or related field (minimum 5 years’ related experience).
• Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and pre-task planning; report safety issues.
• Maintain quality standards on all projects.
• Conduct site testing and make recommendations for systems design.
• Collaborate with senior staff on larger projects.
• Perform field visits, data collection and observations.
• Direct field staff in sampling, testing and data documentation.
• Develop written proposals and perform quality control reviews.
• Evaluate complex laboratory and field data and prepare written reports.
• Participate in client meetings and project discussions.
• Oversee work of junior geologists/hydrogeologists.
