Leidos is seeking a Data Scientist SME to join the Chinook Program supporting our Intelligence Community customer. You will translate massive multi-source geospatial data into actionable intelligence, lead advanced analytics, and provide technical leadership within a high-performing Agile team.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required per contract.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, CS, Geospatial Science or related field with 12–15 years of prior experience, or Master’s with 10–13 years.
• 10+ years of professional experience in data science.
• 5+ years of GEOINT or geospatial data analysis.
• Proven expertise in developing ML/AI models, particularly geospatial/remote sensing.
• Deep knowledge of geospatial analytics tools (GIS, ArcGIS) and remote sensing.
• Proficiency in Python and libraries (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with big data tools (Spark, PySpark, Kafka, Hadoop, AWS or Azure).
• Experience with geospatial data formats (GeoTIFF, Shapefiles) and spatial libs (GeoPandas, Rasterio, GDAL).
• Experience deploying and operationalizing AI/ML models for geospatial data.
• Strong data visualization and reporting skills (Tableau, PowerBI).
• Excellent leadership and collaboration with senior officials and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical SME in data science and geospatial analytics for GEOINT mission.
• Lead design and development of ML models to analyze large multi-source geospatial data.
• Apply geospatial knowledge to develop solutions that enhance data-driven decisions.
• Provide strategic recommendations on new tech to improve workflows and outcomes.
• Mentor and train junior data scientists and analysts.
• Collaborate with GEOINT analysts, program managers, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Conduct applied research on innovative data science techniques for intelligence problems.
• Oversee deployment and operation of data science models for scalability and reliability.
• Maintain high-quality documentation for models, methodologies, and analyses.
