Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Data Scientist SME to translate massive geospatial datasets into actionable intelligence for the Chinook program. You will lead ML model design, deploy scalable solutions, and mentor a team of data scientists within an Agile environment.

You will work at the intersection of data science, AI, cloud tech, and national security, driving insights for mission-critical decisions and ensuring robust documentation and reproducibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a data-related field with 10+ years of experience or Master’s with 10+ years in data science.
• 10+ years of professional experience in data science.
• 5+ years of GEOINT or geospatial data analysis experience.
• Expertise in developing and implementing ML/AI models for geospatial data.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical SME in data science and geospatial analytics for GEOINT missions.
• Design and develop ML models to analyze large multi-source geospatial datasets.
• Apply GEOINT, remote sensing, and spatial analysis to deliver data-driven insights.
• Recommend new technologies to improve analytic workflows and mission outcomes.
• Mentor junior data scientists and analysts on best practices.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to align solutions with mission objectives.
• Explore advanced techniques like deep learning and reinforcement learning for geospatial problems.
• Oversee deployment and operation of data science models.
• Maintain thorough documentation for model methodologies and analyses.
