Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Data Scientist SME to transform multi-source geospatial data into actionable intelligence. You will lead ML model design, apply GEOINT techniques, and mentor teams within an Agile engineering environment across a nationwide set of locations including St. Louis, MO.

The role requires TS/SCI level understanding and a strong background in Python, ArcGIS, and cloud platforms, driving mission-critical insights for national security programs.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required per contract.
• Bachelor’s degree with 12–15 years of experience or Master’s with 10–13 years; Doctorate possible.
• 10+ years of professional data science experience.
• 5+ years with GEOINT or geospatial data analysis.
• Proven ML/AI model development for geospatial data.
• Geospatial tools and remote sensing knowledge; GIS/ArcGIS expertise.
• Proficiency in Python and data science libraries; TensorFlow/PyTorch.
• Big data tools and cloud platforms (Spark, AWS/Azure).
• Experience with geospatial data formats and libraries.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical SME in data science and geospatial analytics.
• Lead design and development of ML algorithms for geospatial datasets.
• Apply GEOINT knowledge to enhance data-driven decisions.
• Recommend new technologies to improve workflows and outcomes.
• Mentor junior data scientists and analysts.
• Collaborate with GEOINT analysts, program managers, and engineers.
• Conduct applied research on advanced data science techniques.
• Oversee deployment and operationalization of models.
• Maintain documentation for models and methodologies.
