Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Data Scientist SME to join the Chinook Program supporting the Intelligence Community. You will lead data science and geospatial analytics, guiding ML models for large, multi-source geospatial datasets and deploying scalable solutions.

You will mentor junior scientists, collaborate across engineers, analysts, and stakeholders, and apply cutting-edge AI/ML with cloud platforms to improve mission outcomes.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required.
• 10+ years of professional experience in data science.
• 5+ years of experience with GEOINT or geospatial data analysis.
• Proven expertise in developing and implementing machine learning and AI models for geospatial data.
• Deep knowledge of geospatial analytics tools and remote sensing techniques.
• Proficiency with Python and data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with big data processing tools such as Spark, Hadoop, and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical SME in data science and geospatial analytics for the GEOINT mission.
• Lead the design and development of ML models to analyze large, multi-source geospatial data.
• Apply GEOINT and remote sensing knowledge to improve data-driven decisions.
• Mentor and train junior data scientists and analysts.
• Oversee deployment and operationalization of models with scalable, reliable outputs.
