Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Data Scientist SME to join the Chinook Program supporting our Intelligence Community customer. You will lead advanced data science and geospatial analytics, building ML models for satellite imagery and multi-source data to enable informed mission decisions.

You will mentor others, collaborate with engineers and analysts, and drive deployment of scalable solutions while advancing GEOINT capabilities with AI and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Geospatial Science or related field; 12–15 years of experience or Master’s with 10–13 years of experience.
• 10+ years of professional data science experience.
• 5+ years in GEOINT or geospatial data analysis.
• Expertise in ML/AI models for geospatial data.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical SME in data science and geospatial analytics.
• Lead design and development of ML models for multi-source geospatial data.
• Apply GEOINT knowledge to develop data-driven decision support.
• Provide strategic recommendations on AI/cloud technologies.
• Mentor junior data scientists and analysts.
• Collaborate with GEOINT analysts, program managers, and engineers.
• Conduct applied research on advanced data science techniques.
• Oversee deployment and operation of data science models.
• Maintain documentation for reproducibility and training.
