Job summary

Leidos seeks a Data Scientist SME to lead advanced analytics for the GEOINT mission within a high‑performing Agile team. You will drive data science work across multi‑source geospatial datasets, delivering actionable intelligence and mission insights.

You will apply ML, AI, and cloud technologies to develop and operationalize models, mentor junior staff, and ensure robust documentation and reproducibility for mission users.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical SME in data science and geospatial analytics for GEOINT.
• Lead design and development of data science models and ML algorithms for large multi-source geospatial data.
• Apply GEOINT knowledge to develop solutions that enhance data-driven decision making.
• Provide strategic recommendations on ML/AI and cloud platforms to improve workflows and outcomes.
• Mentor junior data scientists and analysts to develop mission-relevant expertise.
• Collaborate with GEOINT analysts, program managers, and engineers to align with mission objectives.
• Conduct applied research on advanced data science techniques for real-world intelligence problems.
• Oversee deployment and operationalization of models ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Maintain documentation for models, methodologies, and analyses.
