Job summary

RESPEC seeks an experienced Geochemist to provide technical leadership in mining geochemistry and biogeochemistry consulting. Remote/US-Canada locations with occasional travel support complex projects and multidisciplinary collaboration.

You will lead characterization, modeling, and lab programs, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development while delivering innovative solutions for North American clients.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Geochemistry, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of mining geochemistry or environmental consulting.
• Experience managing technical consulting projects.
• Professional Geologist (PG/P.Geo) registration or ability to obtain.
• Experience with geochemical modeling (PHREEQC, GWB, MIN3P, etc.).
• Willingness to travel; valid driver's license.
• Strong written and verbal communication; client development.

Responsibilities

• Lead geochemical characterization programs for mining projects.
• Direct laboratory and field investigations related to mine waste and water.
• Interpret geochemical datasets.
• Conduct predictive geochemical and hydrogeochemical modeling studies.
• Lead design and interpretation of laboratory testing programs.
• Prepare technical reports and client deliverables.
• Manage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring scope, schedule, budget.
• Develop new business and client relationships.
