Job summary

RESPEC is seeking an experienced Geochemist to provide technical leadership within our mining geochemistry and biogeochemistry consulting practice. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to complex projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support the continued growth of our geochemistry services.

The position is open to candidates located in the United States and Canada, with flexible options to work remotely or from one of RESPEC’s office locations.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Geochemistry or related field.
• 5+ years experience in mining geochemistry or environmental consulting.
• PG/P.Geo registration or ability to obtain.
• Experience leading complex, multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong technical writing, verbal, and presentation abilities.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for geochemical characterization programs in mining projects.
• Direct laboratory and field investigations related to mine waste, mine water, and biogeochemical processes.
• Interpret geochemical and hydrogeochemical datasets and model studies.
• Lead design, construction, operation, and interpretation of laboratory testing programs.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure high-quality client deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients, regulators, and project teams.
• Support business development and client relations.
