Job summary

National Power, LLC is seeking an experienced Generator Technician to lead and train a field service team responsible for startup, service, and repair of industrial generators and related equipment.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will supervise technicians across a geographic territory, drive safety and quality programs, and support spare parts, warranties, and complex service projects, including remote work from home as applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Generac Master Technician or equivalent certification required.
• Expertise with switchgear and generator systems.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Fluent in English with good communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety manuals and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Willingness to travel overnight as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the work of assigned service technicians within geographic territory.
• Evaluate performance and develop training to improve technical knowledge.
• Provide field support and mentorship to technicians.
• Collaborate with the Service Director to resolve performance issues and staffing.
• Participate in recruiting and hiring of field service technicians.
• Serve as first point of contact for phone and field support; escalate as needed.
• Conduct preventive and emergency maintenance, startup, troubleshooting, and repair of generators.
• Make pre-startup site visits and advise installing contractors.
• Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance.
• Implement QC procedures with the Technical Service Manager.
• Review work orders with the Service Manager.
• Support planning and quoting of complex service projects.
• Assist with Generac warranty process administration.
• Advise on time and materials for service levels.
• Provide after-hours emergency response when required.
• Occasional overnight travel.
