Job summary

National Power, LLC is actively seeking an experienced Generator Technician to lead and perform service operations for customers and service teams. You will train, develop, and direct technicians who startup, service, and repair industrial generators and related equipment, including Bypass Isolation ATS and other machinery.

The role requires hands-on technical know-how and strong leadership, with occasional overnight travel and after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Generac Master Technician certification or equivalent.
High level of expertise with switchgear.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to manage a team of technicians.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Supervise and direct the work of assigned service technicians within geographic territory.
Evaluate performance, provide coaching and training programs to improve technical knowledge and performance.
Identify and assign team members to provide field support and mentorship.
Partner with Service Director to resolve issues and staffing needs.
Participate in recruiting and hiring of field service technicians.
Serve as first point of contact for phone and field support; troubleshoot and coordinate repairs.
Conduct preventive and emergency maintenance, startup, troubleshooting, and repair of generators and related equipment.
Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with protocols.
Execute Quality Control programs and document results.
Support planning and quoting of complex service projects.
Assist warranty process administration with Generac.
Advise on time and materials for service levels.
Provide after-hours emergency response; overnight travel may be required.
