Mitsubishi Power Americas is seeking a Generator Engineer III in Field Outage Services. This senior role leads advanced engineering for scheduled and emergent maintenance of turbine generators and associated equipment.

You will mentor staff, develop procedures, and serve as a primary technical authority with frequent travel. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, testing, repair, and risk management, ensuring reliability and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; 10+ years in generator engineering, testing, troubleshooting, or field service.
• Advanced experience with large generators, stators/rotors, electrical testing, and failure analysis.
• Ability to lead in high-pressure field environments and translate data into action.
• Strong communication to influence customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site and remote technical support for generator installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair.
• Direct and interpret advanced generator testing and diagnostics.
• Provide technical leadership during major inspections, rewinds, and high-risk repairs.
• Diagnose conditions in stators, rotors, and excitation interfaces; define corrective actions.
• Review field reports, repair plans, risk assessments, and customer recommendations.
• Coordinate with technicians, subcontractors, and project managers to meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
