Job summary

Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Generator Engineer I to support scheduled and emergent maintenance on turbine generators and related equipment. You will assist with inspections, testing, documentation, and outage execution under supervision.

The role develops core generator competencies through hands-on field experience, technical training, and progressively independent assignments. Frequent travel (70%+) is required to support customers across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits and rotating equipment.
• Willingness to travel 70% or more for field assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with generator installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Perform and document generator testing (IR, PI, RSO, DLRO, Tan Delta, etc.).
• Support inspections of stators, rotors, and related components.
• Collect field data, photos, measurements, and test results; escalate anomalies.
• Prepare field reports, inspection findings, and repair recommendations.
• Develop and review work instructions, outage planning documents, and RFIs under supervision.
• Read technical drawings and manuals to support field activities.
• Coordinate daily activities with technicians, subcontractors, and customer reps.
• Participate in meetings and maintain professional conduct on site.
• Follow safety practices and support quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
