Job summary

Energy Management Corporation is seeking an experienced Generator Applications & Technical Support Specialist to join our engineering team and work closely with our Customer Experience team.

This position is designed for an experienced generator professional who has spent significant time in the field and is ready to transition into an inside technical role where that experience can be used to solve problems, support customers, and develop complete generator solutions.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience with commercial or industrial generator systems.
• Ability to size and select generators for a variety of operating conditions and electrical loads.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, electrical drawings, load schedules, and customer requirements to determine appropriate generator solutions.
• Size and select generators based on running and connected loads, motor-starting requirements, and site conditions.
• Design and support complete generator systems with generators, transfer switches, switchgear, and controls.
• Evaluate challenging loads (VFDs, UPS, nonlinear loads) and understand their impact on sizing.
• Provide technical support for generator and parts sales opportunities and field service questions.
• Coordinate with sales, engineering, customer experience, and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
