Job summary

Strategic Staffing Solutions, Inc. seeks an experienced Construction Supervisor to oversee contractors at the Big Bend Power Plant in Apollo Beach, FL.

This onsite role coordinates field construction, monitors performance, and maintains schedules to ensure safety and quality across multiple disciplines including mechanical, electrical, and controls. The ideal candidate has extensive supervision experience, strong knowledge of electrical systems, and the ability to manage contractor activities

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Construction management training.
• 10–15 years of experience in heavy facility construction, commercial construction, or construction management.
• Approximately 10 years of experience in electrical systems and controls within a commercial environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and controls.
• Experience supervising contractors and subcontractors in a construction environment.
• Experience preparing scopes of work, developing budget estimates, and working with contract administrators.
• Knowledge of NEC, ASME, ASTM, OSHA construction and general industry requirements.
• Experience with construction planning, scheduling, and outage coordination.
• Ability to coordinate multiple construction disciplines and projects simultaneously.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and team-building skills.
• Experience using computerized work management systems.
• Ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee contractor and subcontractor activities to ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with plans.
• Promote a zero-accident safety philosophy and monitor compliance with rules and regulatory standards.
• Inspect ongoing construction activities to verify quality and compliance.
• Review project designs to identify changes and coordinate contract changes.
• Identify critical construction activities and potential schedule impacts.
• Assist with preparing field installation subcontract packages and scopes of work.
• Support bidding, evaluation, and award of work packages for improvements and new construction.
• Assign work and monitor progress against project schedules and productivity estimates.
• Participate in meetings to review progress and schedule performance.
• Assist with planning, scheduling, outage coordination, and project execution.
• Monitor safety, environmental compliance, QA/QC, commissioning, cost, and schedule.
• Coordinate construction and maintenance for electrical systems, controls, pumps, HVAC, piping, and more.
• Work with contract administrators to manage performance.
• Use computerized work management systems to track activities.
• Perform additional duties as directed by management.
