Job summary

99Pledges, part of Beacon Holdings, seeks a senior generalist engineer to own the tech for the fundraising platform. You will handle architecture, deployments, incidents, vendor calls, and prioritization with no direct reports.

You will automate aggressively and decide what to build in collaboration with stakeholders. You will implement payments, payouts, and reconciliations across providers, and integrate AI into the product with guardrails and production-grade pipelines.

Qualifications

• Senior generalist with cross-domain experience in web, data, infra, and AI.
• Production experience with money-related systems (payments, payouts, reconciliation).
• Ownership of a real system from design to on-call and customer-facing issues.
• Strong Postgres modelling, querying, and migrations.
• Experience shipping LLM features to production with evals and guardrails.
• Ability to improve engineering processes (trunk-based dev, automated tests, environment discipline).
• Good judgment on technical debt and cost trade-offs.
• Excellent written communication for solo work.

Responsibilities

• Set roadmap with GM, product team, and customers; translate priorities into a plan.
• Ensure money flow: donations, payouts, reconciliation across providers, retries, webhooks.
• Incorporate AI into product with guardrails and deterministic pipelines.
• Code effectively; contribute with hands-on coding and automation.
• Raise engineering floor with CI, staging, test coverage, deploy processes.
• Produce documentation and tests so future engineers can onboard quickly.
• Handle fraud and abuse, device fingerprinting, donor/school safety.
