Job summary

Beacon Holdings seeks a senior leader to own the Forward Deployed Engineering function, marrying product leadership with platform delivery. You will own capacity allocation across pods, maintain a shared backlog with pod product leaders, and ensure every engagement yields measurable outcomes and scalable platform primitives.

You will mentor senior generalists in SF and Toronto, drive ruthless prioritization aligned with business goals, and ship a high-impact deployment in the first two quarters.

Qualifications

• Built and led a forward-deployed engineering function at an AI/data platform company.
• Strong generalist engineer with production LLM-native software experience, evals, and outcome tracking.
• Operator instincts: read P&L and drive EBITDA-aligned deployments.
• Writes clearly and works transparently with wedge memos, GM updates, and post-deployment retros.

Responsibilities

• Own the FDE doctrine: deliver outcomes, write start/end/deliverables, ship platform primitives.
• Allocate ~1,000 engineering weeks per year across pods with clear gates and ownership.
• Lead the pod partnership: align backlog with product leaders and FDEs.
• Inform platform with field patterns and ship shared primitives when signals repeat.
• Hire senior generalists in Toronto and SF and grow the team.
• Carry one hard deployment in the first two quarters to prove capability.
