Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Senior Claim Representative/Consultant to handle general liability claims with an emphasis on complex litigation, exposure assessment, and effective negotiation. You will partner with Staff Legal and outside counsel to resolve cases across premises, products, completed operations, and more, while maintaining high service standards.

Candidates should have 2–5+ years of liability claims experience, strong analytical skills, and licensure.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of experience managing general liability claims.
• Technical expertise in managing claims of high complexity.
• Licensing requirements: state adjuster license(s) and passing licensing exams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, reserve and execute file strategies for assigned claims in line with policy and regulations.
• Assess exposure, establish priorities and communicate status of assignments.
• Interpret and apply insurance coverage; work with counsel to resolve complex claims.
• Investigate, evaluate and negotiate highly complex claims to disposition; identify subrogation opportunities.
• Maintain and build relationships with internal and external customers while delivering superior service.
