Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Five years minimum handling general liability claims.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Negotiation and technical claim handling skills.
• Knowledge of coverage and tort laws.
• Understanding of high-value bodily injury claims.
• Ability to analyze coverage and liability issues.
• Ability to communicate clearly and influence others.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations and analyze information.
• Make coverage determinations and communicate positions to insureds and parties.
• Set reserves within authority and monitor regularly for adjustments.
• Present cases to management for reserve authority.
• Develop and implement resolution strategies for high-quality outcomes.
• Manage litigation and counsel, including budgeting and bill review.
• Attend trials and mediations as needed.
• Participate in audits, projects and product development initiatives.
• Prepare reports and present case developments to senior leadership.
• Work with partners to evaluate claim trends and developments.
• Address inquiries from agents and policyholders with superior service.
