Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years handling general liability claims.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to manage litigation and defense counsel.
• Knowledge of coverage and tort laws.
• Experience handling high-value bodily injury claims.

Responsibilities

• Investigate claims and evaluate information.
• Make coverage determinations and communicate positions.
• Set reserves within authority and monitor adjustments.
• Present cases for reserve authority.
• Develop resolution strategies for high-quality outcomes.
• Manage litigation and counsel, including planning and budgeting.
• Attend trials and mediations as necessary.
• Contribute to claim and enterprise goals via audits and projects.
• Prepare reports and present to senior claim leadership.
• Work with partners to address claim trends.
• Address inquiries from agents and policyholders with excellent service.
