Job summary

Publix Super Markets seeks an experienced Senior Claims Consultant – General Liability to lead the most complex claims with high exposure. You will direct defense, set reserves, and negotiate settlements while advising Risk Management leadership.

The role emphasizes autonomy, advanced analysis, and financial impact, requiring strong judgement and senior-level negotiation skills within a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with several years of claims experience.
• Experience handling liability claims including litigated matters.
• Ability to obtain Florida All Lines Adjuster License on hire.

Responsibilities

• Own moderate to high‑value litigated and complex general liability and fleet claims.
• Direct outside defense counsel and manage litigation plans, budgets, and strategy.
• Review claims to estimate financial loss and develop handling plans.
• Represent Publix at mediations and trials and maintain settlement authority.
• Collect evidence and perform Best‑Investigation‑Evidence (BIE) work to support decisions.
