Job summary

Sompo seeks a Senior Technical Specialist for General Liability to lead specialized claims handling and provide technical guidance to TPAs and internal teams. This role requires collaboration with underwriting, actuaries, and counsel to optimize reserve levels and defense strategy.

The position involves managing complex exposures up to multimillion-dollar levels, ensuring compliance with client guidelines and maintaining strong relationships across departments.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have general liability claims experience with increasing responsibility.
• Preference for candidates with insurance designations and multiple state licenses.
• Experience handling large, high-exposure claims and complex strategy.

Responsibilities

• Handle Sompo Casualty claims (primary/excess) and related systems and processes.
• Provide technical oversight to TPA claim handlers and supervisors.
• Develop strategies to control expenses and resolve litigated claims.
• Establish reserves and analyze loss trends for improvement plans.
• Coordinate with underwriting, actuarial, and other functions during renewals.
