Hippo Insurance in Austin/Dallas operates on a hybrid model and seeks an Experienced Senior General Liability Claims Adjuster licensed in multiple states. You will manage a diverse caseload across bodily injury, property damage, and related exposures with a focus on coverage analysis, negotiation, and timely resolutions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in general liability, strong understanding of tort and policy terms, and a proven track record handling complex or litigated claims.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of general liability claims adjusting experience.
• Active adjuster licenses in multiple states or ability to obtain quickly; multi-state licensing preferred.
• Strong understanding of liability law, tort principles, and policy coverage interpretation across jurisdictions.
• Proven track record of managing complex and/or litigated claims to resolution.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Commitment to excellent service with empathetic experience for claimants.
• Experience with TPAs or self-insured programs is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Investigate, evaluate, and resolve general liability claims (premises, products, personal injury, property damage) across jurisdictions.
• Conduct thorough coverage analysis applying policy terms and exclusions.
• Interview claimants, witnesses, and insureds; gather statements and documentation.
• Partner with legal counsel and outside experts on litigated claims.
• Set and maintain reserves per guidelines and state regulations.
• Negotiate settlements directly with claimants, attorneys, and third-party reps.
• Ensure compliance with state unfair claims practices acts and licensing requirements.
• Manage claim files from first notice of loss through resolution, including subrogation.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the claims system and stay updated on state regs.
