Job summary

AvonRisk is a leading specialty risk manager for self-insured organizations, delivering expert support in liability, auto, and related claims across 32 states. The Adjuster III investigates, evaluates, and adjusts medium to complex claims, directing defense counsel and guiding less experienced staff as needed.

Fully remote with preference for Eastern time zone and liability licensure in New England/Tri-State areas; salary range listed and full benefits package available.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree preferred.
• Five years’ experience in insurance claims or self-insurance.
• At least two years handling litigated claims.
• Experience using claims management software or ability to learn new software quickly.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, analyze, and adjust liability and property loss claims.
• Correspond with clients, claimants, witnesses, medical specialists, and agents to collect facts.
• Obtain and evaluate records to determine evidence supports the claim.
• Gather physical evidence and inspect properties to assess damages.
• Obtain reports to analyze losses and negotiate settlements when appropriate.
• Keep clients informed throughout the litigation process.
• Attend hearings, settlement conferences, and mediation as needed.
