Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is hiring for a GCS Design/Construction Engineering Team Representative. You will lead the design and implementation of specialty gas, chemical, and slurry system infrastructure, combining people management with project ownership.

You will manage external engineering firms, approve critical drafting packages, and drive projects through design to field installation in a fast-paced environment. 7+ years of relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in engineering design and construction management.
• Experience in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or high-tech manufacturing environments focusing on specialty gas/chemical distribution.

Responsibilities

• Performance Management: establish KPIs and conduct performance reviews for the engineering team.
• Administrative Oversight: manage timecards, expense reports, and resource allocation.
• Talent Acquisition: lead hiring, interviewing, and onboarding of engineers.
• Mentorship: foster learning and technical growth within the team.
• Technical Project Lead: lead high-priority design and construction projects from inception to delivery.
• Technical Leadership: track, resolve project issues and communicate risks and mitigations.
• Strategic Planning: lead fabrication efforts and support project planning for new/retrofit construction.
• Oversee external design firms and ensure deliverables are on schedule and within budget.
• Review and approve GCS drawing packages and site construction specifications.
• Perform utility demand calculations for existing and new facilities.
• Ensure compliance with mechanical standards and building/environmental codes.
• Develop handover plans and project closeout documentation.
