Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Sr. Field Service Commissioning Technician for Gas Systems to perform maintenance, start-ups, and repairs on generators in a home-based role across the United States.

The position requires extensive travel, deep knowledge of gas and diesel gensets, and strong customer interaction skills. Qualified candidates will have an engineering-related degree and 7–9 years of field service and troubleshooting experience, with certification in gas systems and ability to read

Qualifications

• Two years mechanical trade school or Associate’s Degree in Engineering Science or Mechanical Technology.
• 7 years field service, mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience; or 9 years field service experience with gaseous powered systems.
• Ability to travel internationally and domestically. Travel 75–100%.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs generator set systems in a field environment.
• Performs complex power generation system commissioning and start ups.
• Schedule and estimate work completion timeframes for gas, electrical, and commissioning of generator systems.
• Review commissioning requirements to determine, schedule and complete installation according to customer requirements.
• Work with other manufacturers and trades for project completion.
• Diagnose and repair or modify equipment for gaseous, mechanical, and/or electrical system issues.
• Promote compliance with Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct and safety practices.
• Interact with customers professionally and build relationships.
