Job summary

Atlantic Casualty Insurance Company (ACIC) seeks an experienced claims professional to manage complex, high‑value commercial garage claim files from start to settlement. You will interpret policies, assess liability, and coordinate with independent adjusters and attorneys.

Strong negotiation and file management skills are essential. Candidates should have 7+ years of claims handling, deep knowledge of coverage and litigation, plus the appropriate resident/non‑resident adjuster licenses.

Qualifications

• A four-year degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of and adherence to state laws and regulations governing handling of property and casualty claims.
• A basic understanding of accounting principles, construction, underwriting and auto physical damage estimating.
• Seven plus years handling claims with advanced skills in coverage, investigation, litigation, negotiation, salvage and subrogation.
• Licensing: valid resident adjuster license for the license state; non-resident license where required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, review and interpret policies to resolve coverage and assess liability.
• Independently handle more complex and high-exposure Commercial Garage claims.
• Investigates claims by interviewing parties and reviewing official reports.
• Manage files in litigation and establish loss reserves.
• Document information in the claim file and review policies for coverage.
• Make decisions regarding liability and maintain a diary of assigned claims.
• Train personnel within the unit and perform related duties.
