Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. is seeking a Senior Claims Examiner, Casualty, to actively manage high-severity commercial claims across general liability and related excess policies in the United States.

The role emphasizes negotiation, technical claims expertise, and delivering service-oriented solutions in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will have 7–10 years of casualty claims experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and active adjuster licensing in all applicable states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 10 years working experience in lieu of degree.
• Active adjuster licensing in all applicable states.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess coverage issues, draft coverage position letters, and retain coverage counsel as needed.
• Develop and implement strategy relative to coverage issues aligning with the handler's plan.
• Develop and implement timely resolution strategies to mitigate indemnity and expense exposures.
• Maintain contact with claims staff, underwriters, counsel, and brokers to communicate developments.
• Investigate claims and review insureds' materials and pleadings.
• Review each jurisdiction's statutes, rules, and case law.
• Review litigation materials including depositions and experts' reports.
• Analyze coverage, liability and damages to assess reserves.
• Prepare written/oral reports to senior management on issues and reserves.
• Travel within the United States for mediations, trials and proceedings.
• Negotiate resolution of claims and select structure brokers.
• Maintain a diary of all claims and respond to inquiries promptly.
