Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Sound Designer for a distinguished audio production house focused on video games and immersive media. The role, based in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, requires designing, implementing, and mixing dynamic soundscapes to elevate immersion and narrative impact.

You will collaborate with designers and composers, work with industry-standard tools like Wwise, FMOD, and major DAWs, and contribute to high-profile projects across platforms. A strong portfolio is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Music Technology, Sound Design, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of professional sound design experience, especially in interactive media and games.
• Proficiency with DAWs: Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Cubase, or Reaper.
• Experience with audio middleware: Wwise or FMOD.
• Strong understanding of game audio pipelines and interactive concepts.
• Excellent sound design, Foley, synthesis, and mixing skills.

Responsabilités

• Design, record, edit, and implement high-quality sound effects, Foley, ambiences, and UI sounds for interactive projects.
• Collaborate with game designers, writers, and composers to shape the audio experience.
• Implement assets using Wwise/FMOD and game engines.
• Mix and balance audio for clarity and impact across scenarios.
• Develop interactive audio systems responsive to gameplay events.
• Troubleshoot audio issues during development.
• Stay updated on audio tech and techniques for interactive media.
• Contribute creative ideas to enhance overall audio direction.
• Manage audio assets and documentation.
• Participate in audio reviews and provide feedback to the team.
