Placements24 seeks a Senior Sound Designer & Engineer for a fully remote role serving a cutting-edge digital media production house. The ideal candidate will design, record, edit, and mix sound for games, film, and interactive media, delivering immersive audio within game engines and development platforms.

This is a remote-first position requiring an expert ear and strong communication in virtual environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Sound Design, Music Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 6 years of professional experience in sound design and audio engineering with a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency in DAWs (Pro Tools, Reaper, Cubase) and audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD).
• Strong understanding of acoustics, psychoacoustics, and sound synthesis.
• Experience with field recording, Foley, ADR, and surround mixing.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and remotely, with strong communication in virtual environments.
• Reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated home studio.

Responsibilities

• Design, record, edit, and mix sound effects, dialogue, and music for various media projects.
• Create immersive and compelling audio environments that enhance user experience.
• Implement audio assets into game engines or other development platforms.
• Collaborate with directors, game designers, and other team members to achieve the desired audio vision.
• Manage audio aspects of projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality sound.
• Maintain and organize audio libraries and assets.
• Stay updated on the latest audio technologies, software, and industry trends.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any audio-related technical issues.
• Mentor junior sound designers and engineers.
• Contribute to the overall sound strategy and quality assurance of our client's products.
