Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Functional Safety Integration Engineer to coordinate safety-critical development across hardware, software and systems for electric vehicles. You will bridge safety requirements with project execution, ensuring ISO 26262 compliance across SAF and software safety workflows.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Embedded Systems, or Software Engineering.
• Experience with FuSa ISO 26262.
• Knowledge of automotive protocols CAN, SPI, LIN, SENT, FlexRay.
• Experience with requirements management tools (JAMA, Doors) and issue tracking (Jira, Bugzilla).
• Experience with C programming and/or model-based design using Simulink.

Responsibilities

• Ensure vehicle level safety goals, ASIL levels, and safety requirements are available to unblock analysis.
• Develop hardware and software safety plans with targets and deliverables.
• Act as bridge between safety leads, system, software, and hardware teams and vendors.
• Plan and track safety test cases and co-ordinate with teams to ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate hardware/software failure analysis (FMEA, FMEDA, DFMEA, FTA).
• Maintain safety case, traceability matrices and audit records across projects.
