Job summary

Rivian Automotive seeks a Functional Safety Integration Engineer to lead safety-critical development across hardware, software and systems in electric vehicles. You will bridge safety requirements to project execution, ensuring ISO 26262 compliance and safety case integrity.

Role involves coordinating safety analyses, test planning, and cross-disciplinary collaboration with vendors and internal teams, using tools like JAMA, Jira and Git.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Electrical, Embedded Systems or Software Engineering.
• Experience with FuSa engineering in ISO 26262 is required or highly desired.
• Knowledge of CAN, SPI, LIN, SENT, FlexRay and safety analysis methods.

Responsibilities

• Ensure vehicle level safety goals, ASIL levels, hazard analysis and safety requirements are delivered on time.
• Develop hardware and software safety plans with targets and deliverables.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across safety, hardware, software, and external vendors.
• Plan and document hardware/software safety test cases, DVPs and coordination activities.
• Coordinate failure analysis activities (FMEA, FMEDA, FTA) affecting safety and track milestones.
• Maintain and evolve safety case, traceability matrices, and audit records.
